Iran bans reformist newspaper
Nouruz, the leading reformist newspaper in Iran, has been banned for six months and Mohsen Mirdamadi, the paper's director and a member of the Iran Parliament, has been sentenced to jail for the same length of time.
He may not actually go to jail since he is a distinguished member of parliament and heads the Maglis foreign affairs and national security committee. He also also been prohibited from engaging in press activities for four years.
