Saudis Cite 9/11 For Surge In Islamic Conversions

Of the 942 people from 19 countries who embraced Islam here in the Kingdom last year, 709 did so after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Nouf ibn Nasser Al-Qarain, Director of the Cooperative Office for Call and Guidance in Al-Batha, said conversion spiked dramatically after the terrorist attacks.

Nouf did not mention that since the majority of the terrorists came courtesy of Saudi Arabia, some people living there thought changing to Muslim might be a good idea.
