Iraq Rejects New UN Conditions

Baghdad's rejection of any new UN resolutions on weapons inspections was seen as a new challenge to US calls for tougher measures against Iraq, as the commander of US forces in the Gulf said his troops were ready "to do whatever we are asked to do."

You see, Iraq is making the return of inspectors contingent on respecting their 'sovereignty' ... which means deciding what can be inspected ... and lifting the UN embargoes.

How exactly is any of that a concession by Iraq? It's clearly a ploy to send the UN into chaos and stall for time.
