Saddam's Heir Escapes Assassination Attempt

Amidst rumors that Saddam may turn over power to escape American justice comes news that his son, Qusay Hussein, averted death in a booby-trapped car on June 9.

Like the attempt on Uday Hussein a few years ago, this attempt was blamed on Shi'ite insurgents. Anyone who thinks that these two sons of Hussein aren't trying to kill each other don't understand Iraq, the environment Saddam's children were raised in, or that Saddam probably likes that they're fighting each other.
